The Family Wealth Vault program

The records you keep in Family Wealth Vault stay on your own computer, encrypted. We do not receive, see or store them, and the program does not send us information about you or how you use it. If you turn on the optional update check, it asks this website whether a newer version exists, sending only the version number.

Information we collect on this website

• When you download or contact us: your name, email address, phone number (if you give it), the type of computer, the plan you're interested in, your question, and whether you agreed to marketing emails.
• When you subscribe or buy: your name, email address, the plan, your licence keys and a record of payments. Payments are taken by Stripe (Stripe Payments Europe Ltd), which acts as a separate controller for your card details; we never see or store your card number.
• Visits: we count visits without cookies and without storing anything on your device. When a page opens and closes it sends us: the page, the website that linked to it, any campaign tags in the link, your screen width, browser language and time zone, how long the page was open and how far you scrolled. To tell visitors apart within a day, we combine your IP address and browser type with a random value that changes every day and keep only a scrambled result, so we can't identify you or recognise you on another day. We keep only daily totals.
• Emails: if you download the trial we email your download link and reminders before your trial ends; customers get licence keys and important product news. Every email has an unsubscribe link.

How we use it, and our lawful basis

• To send your download link, reply to your questions and provide support: to take steps at your request and to perform our contract with you.
• To issue and manage licences and keep records required by law: contract and legal obligation.
• To send trial reminders and product news to trial users and customers: our legitimate interests, and you can unsubscribe at any time.
• To send offers by email: only with your consent (or, for customers and trial users, about our own similar products), which you can withdraw at any time using the link in any email or by contacting us.
• To understand how our website is used and improve it: our legitimate interests, using only anonymous totals.

Sharing

We don't sell your information. We share it only with service providers who help us run our business (for example website hosting, email and payment processing), under contracts that require them to protect it, or when the law requires.

How long we keep it

We keep enquiry and download details for up to 24 months after your last contact with us, unless you become a customer. Customer and licence records are kept for 6 years after your last purchase, for accounting purposes.

Security

Information collected by this website is stored encrypted on a server in the UK or the European Union, protected by HTTPS, and only our staff can access it, using two-step verification.

Your rights

You can ask for a copy of your information, ask us to correct or delete it, object to or restrict how we use it, and withdraw consent to marketing at any time. Email support@familywealthvault.com. If you're unhappy with how we've handled your information, you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office (ico.org.uk).
