Where is my information kept?
Only on your own computer, encrypted. It's never uploaded to us or to any cloud service. Phones and iPads at home read it from your computer over your Wi-Fi.
Can you see my data?
No. We never receive your records, and because the encryption keys are locked with your own PINs and recovery code, nobody else can open your vault, including us.
Does it connect to my bank?
No, and that's deliberate: nothing is shared with banks or third parties. You enter balances yourself (it takes seconds), or import a statement file downloaded from online banking.
Can I use it on my phone or iPad?
Yes, at home. Scan a QR code on your computer and add it to your phone's home screen. Your computer needs to be on with Family Wealth Vault running, and the phone on the same Wi-Fi.
Does it work on a Mac?
Yes. There is a Windows version and a Mac version. Phones and tablets use it through their web browser.
Can my partner and family use it?
Yes. Everyone gets their own PIN or password, and you choose what each person can see. You can invite them by email.
What if I forget my PIN?
Use the recovery code you wrote down when you set up. An administrator can also reset another person's PIN.
What if my computer breaks?
Turn on the automatic second backup (to a USB stick, external drive or OneDrive). Install Family Wealth Vault on your new computer and open the backup; it stays encrypted throughout.
Is this financial advice?
No. Family Wealth Vault organises your information and works out estimates and suggestions from what you enter. For decisions, especially about tax, pensions and wills, speak to a qualified adviser.
What happens when the trial ends?
Nothing is deleted. The vault becomes read-only until you enter a licence key, so you can always see, print and export everything.
